Chapter 6 Reflection

 How did you learn vocabulary items when you were a child in school? what strategies did your teacher teach to remember vocabulary words or figure out what a word meant without being a dictionary? Answer I learned vocabulary when I was a child it's like my teacher gave me a list of words or vocabulary Indonesia-English that contain all things in the classroom like table, blackboard, chair, pencil, and so on, and then we should to memorizing it, after that try to make some sentence for the activity and then make a dialog with a seatmate and practice it in the front of the class, after that it does not just stop in here, the teacher will give homework to make a list of vocabulary in our room, over and over until it goes widely.

Question 1 What do you think for a young learner is the hardest part of writing? do you think it is holding a pencil or do you think it is getting ideas formulated and put down on paper? Answer When young learners first start writing, they have difficulty correctly holding a pencil and writing long words very complicated to write down. After passing that one, they will think about an idea formulated to write down on the paper, it might be hard for them but if they practice frequently they will develop gradually. Question 2 How did you learn from letters or characters in your native language? did you use fat crayons? did you use a brush? How would you teach a young learner from your country to form and print letters in English? Answer Yes I learn it, I use a pencil to do it. Answer When I was a child I love books about Animals like mammals and dinosaurs, the book is non-fiction. I remember one book entitled 100 Knowledge about dinosaurs I very love them and I read it over and over at that time. and my favorite books for today are novel, technology, infrastructure, oceanography, and religion.   Questions 1. Count the number of times that different sentence patterns are repeated? 2. Why would repeating sentences help young learners? Answer 1. Someone ate my porridge (it's repeated three times) 2. Because the repeating patterns could help the student to understand change and that things happened over time and are very easy to take by young learners, and then repeating the sentence frequently simplify by the decoding process for beginning, especially for young learners in the listening process make them easier to take the meaning.
