Chapter 5 Reflection


Question 1

What do you think for a young learner is the hardest part of writing? do you think it is holding a pencil or do you think it is getting ideas formulated and put down on paper?

Answer

When young learners first start writing, they have difficulty correctly holding a pencil and writing long words very complicated to write down. After passing that one, they will think about an idea formulated to write down on the paper, it might be hard for them but if they practice frequently they will develop gradually.


Question 2

  1. How did you learn from letters or characters in your native language? did you use fat crayons? did you use a brush?
  2. How would you teach a young learner from your country to form and print letters in English?
Answer
  1. Yes I learn it, I use a pencil to do it.
  2. First I will show them how to write letters and characters on a whiteboard, and then write three sentences and practice it.
Question 3

Think about the different types of writing assignments that you had when you were a young learner. they could have been an assignment in English or another language. what was the emphasis? was the emphasis on the process or the product?

Answer

When I was a young learner my teacher give me an assignment with emphasizing the practice process it is like she gave us the easy part to write and then the medium until the hard one.


Question 4

What are some ways to publish different places of student writing? Think about student-produced literature as well as non-fiction.

Answer
in my opinion, there are several ways for students to publish it, such as displaying it in the classroom in an attractive form, making posters as the book says above, it can be in the form of short stories, or poetry. If you want to publish it on the internet, I recommend publishing it via a blog. 

Question 5

What is the student expected to do on the page in example 5? how will it help learners to develop English-Language writing skills?

Answer
The student will be expected about writing the five candles on paper, yes it will help to develop English-Language writing skills, especially motor skills required to write English-Language letters.
